Topic: Pentaho 7.0

Pedro Alves, Pentaho SVP community manager, founder of Webdetails has been a big part of the community for a while now.
Those that do not know him yet, he's that crazy Portuguese guy that you just can't get off the stage!
Pedro will explain us what cool new stuff has been added to Pentaho 7.0 and will probably explain us how awesome CEO life at the beach in Portugal is.

Joana Avelar

Topic: Smartcity Copenhagen

Joana Avelar is working at Pentaho for the last 1.5 years. Joana is working at the HCC Smartcity Copenhagen, where she is responsible for the front end CTools development. Joana will show how the CDE Dashboard Component enabled an easier embedding of dashboards and allowed the navigation to be done using different approaches leveraging the requireJS framework.

Tom Barber is a Business Intelligence consultant, java developer and the director of Meteorite.bi. He founded the Saiku Analytics project, an easy to use OLAP browser. Tom will run through setting up and running "big data" analytics platform with Juju Application Modelling

Jens Bleuel is a Product Manager Data Integration at Pentaho. On PCM11 Jens connected PDI to his son's electric train. On PCM12 Jens showed a video of a Kettle controlled model helicopter. So expect PDI with a twist in his presentation. This year Jens will show us what's new in PDI 7.0.

Topic: PDI Unit Testing

Matt Casters, does he need an introduction? For those who don't know him yet, Matt has been an independent BI consultant for many years, until he decided that it was time for a new ETL tool. This ETL tool is now acquired by Pentaho, as such he became Chief Architect of Data Integration. Matt will talk about the unit testing functionality in PDI.

Topic: VizAPI 3.0

Duarte Leão is a software developer at WebDetails. Duarte worked as a developer on different parts of the CTools. In his presentation, Duarte will show the new Visualization API, shipped with Pentaho 7. This new version of the Viz Api allows people working with the Pentaho platform to extend it by easily creating new visualizations that can be used throughout the stack.

Topic: Loading data to Neo4j using PDI

Bart Maertens is the founder of know.bi, a Business Intelligence consultancy firm. Beside his great responsibilities Bart enjoys experimenting with new stuff in the BI landscape. Recently he developed the 'PDI Neo4J Output Step' to load data into Neo4j using PDI. In his presentation Bart will demonstrate how to create interaction between Neo4j and PDI.

Topic: Data models for Hadoop: Kimball without updates

Nelson Sousa and his minion Miguel Cunhal are part of Ubiquis. Nelson is the founder of the Business Intelligence consultancy firm, Miguel works as a consultant. Both are specialized in the Pentaho toolset. In their presentation they will cover Hadoop replacements and improvements for two of Kimball's concepts: the Accumulating Snapshot Fact Table and the Slowly Changing Dimension of Type II.

Topic: Improve Mondrian MDX usability with user defined functions

Raimonds Simanovskis is the founder of eazyBI, a data visualisation tool.  Raimonds and his team have created many MDX user defined functions to improve productivity. He will showcase the most frequently used functions.

Engineering Product Owner @ Pentaho

Topic: Using the Power of Data Blending

Marco Vala is an engineering product owner at Pentaho. Marco worked as a developer on different parts of the CTools. Marco's presentation will explain how any ordinary transformation can be turned into a JDBC data source that can be queried with simple SQL statements. It will explore some common use cases and the possibility of having any JDBC-compliant tool accessing the data. Finally, it will briefly go through some of the advanced features like push-down optimizations.

Brussels Airport Company

BI: Pentaho Data Integration

Brussels Airport Company (BAC) is the company running Brussels Airport, Belgium's biggest airport, and as such provides access to Brussels, the capital of Europe. In 2014, over 21 million passengers passed through Brussels Airport. BAC has developed ETL for each of it departments. They build a generic system which is able to generate part of their SQL and transformations, which will be explained in their use case.

66 Controls

BI: Pentaho Data Integration, Pentaho Business Analytics

66Controls is specialized in software applications. With a focus on Oracle applications, Oracle e-Business Suite in particular, the Dutch Health sector is currently their primary market. 66Controls has Pentaho Business Analytics embedded into 66Control’s enterprise SaaS suite, KPI Performance Management, to extend analytics to end customers

ABN AMRO Clearing is leading global securities services provider clearing over 16 million trades per day and covering 85 exchanges worldwide. ABN AMRO Clearing has an extensive customer base including financial market participants, industry giants and start-ups. ABN AMRO Clearing is a global player with local operations across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Worldwide 90 exchanges can be accessed through direct clearing memberships and third party clearers. ABN AMRO uses business analytics and data integration to get an overview of the trades, positions, cash movements and other financial figures. 


BI: Pentaho Data Integration, Pentaho Business Analytics

CIPAL serves local and provincial governments in Flanders, Belgium, to carry out service agreement in as efficient and customer friendly possible. CIPAL offers policy and process support, innovative and reliable information management services and e-government solutions. Due to New government legislation for planning and reporting transparency, local municipalities must undergo a major operational and cultural change. CIPAL had to pilot and develop a BI application to help the municipalities with this new legislation.
